As most of my colleagues and patients know, my wife and I love to ski. We started skiing about 20 years ago and fell in love with it (perhaps because I grew up in the very snowy area of upstate New York!). In addition, we have travelled many times to Europe. We even got a tutor to help us learn Italian!
I have been married to Dr. Mary Muscato since we were in medical school and we have worked together all these years. She is from Philadelphia and I from New York, so it was quite a change when we moved to Columbia, but we love it here. We have three children and 4 grandchildren. We also have always had cats, including my current friend Furball.
Most of these have revolved around my volunteer committee action for state and national medical societies. I have also been on the Foundation Board for Boone Hospital. Mary and I were also among the original founders of the Columbia Independent School and served on the board for several years. I love our Chit-Chat Club meetings where a bunch of us male types get together to discuss papers we have written and have a meal with a lot of wine!
I'm a bit of tech geek. Most people don't know that I am also an amateur radio operator Extra Class (AA0IV). I love to read, especially murder mysteries.
